Easter was a blast, got all new cross-ski and alpine equipment and put it to good use! Man, miss norway… Didn’t do much other than skiing and hanging with cousins, but still got some pictures to post

Probably went overboard with the first one, but was thinking i had to do something “out-there” but i guess it turned out, ehee. Still nice practice

Röyksopp – Junior

Röyksopp the norwegian duo released their newest album yesterday and what a hit! I really like this one and I’m pleasantly surprised that they decided to combine some of the sounds from “the understanding” and “melody a.m.”. The whole album has a distinct style and a timeless quality in a way. Only Röyksopp could make this album happen! They also brought in a lot of talent, such as Lykke li, Robyn, Karin Dreijer (The Knife, now Fever ray) and Anneli drekker.

Five out of Five stars from me, no less. Really looking forward to Senior, scheduled for release later this year. Can’t wait for some ambient from this invincible duo.

I’m still searching for good photoblogs and other sources on photography on the internet, but I’ll share the one’s I’ve found up to this moment. Really enjoying some good photoblogs and there are several sites sharing a handy trick or two.

Some recommendations

So, as always I’ve been listening to some music and would like to share some of my favoured artists or bands. It’s a variety from chill/ambient to partytronic (electronica). So without further due:

Whitest Boy Alive – Rules (Indiepop, Electronic)
Erlend Øye and the germans recently released their anticipated second album. A refreshing update of their original style makes this a great album.

Maria Taylor – Lady Luck (Indie)
Her new album is quite different from the past two, with also a different source of inspiration; a breakup. Maybe some of the songs are a bit more softer or more poppish than those her former albums, but the addition of several instruments really contributes to the album. I personaly don’t enjoy all of the tracks, but recommend you listen to it once.

BT – This Binary Universe (Ambient, Electronic, Chill out)
Launched in 2006 but not discovered by me until recently. This album has some seriously good relaxation value in it. Many songs are a great mashup of even genres and are really inspirational, so you better not miss this one!

MSTRKRFT – Fist of God (Electronic)
MSTRKRFT with their second album has something good going on with this track. Quite the variety of songs, some being more rap-oriented or dubstep because of MSTRKRFTS beats and some with a more RNB kind of vocal. Couldn’t help but notice the similarity to Evil Nine on their track “Click Click”. Worth a listen!

The Presets – Apocalypso (Electroclash/Electronic)
I’m not sure how to describe it but that doesn’t really matter either. Original sound and a great piece of work from The Presets, also with some cheesy humour (This boys in love). Highly recommended

Ladyhawke – Ladyhawke (Pop, Electronic, Classic Rock)
Ladyhawke has been working with several “superstars” (such as Pnau+) but now going strong solo. Gotta love “Paris is burning” which is probably the best known of her tracks on this album.

Anathallo – Canopy Glow (Indie rock, Experimental)
Oh I was really looking forward to their new album and it didn’t disappoint. Cleaner than the predeceding albums and with great changes in pace and rhythm throughout many of their songs. Really like this one.

Burial – Untrue (Dubstep)
Dubstep at it’s finest, really longing for a new album from Burial. You should have heard of this album and if you haven’t then go discover! there’s no time to waste.
